Brown v. State Officers Electoral Board

Petitioner appealed from the circuit court’s order denying her petition seeking judicial review of the decision of the State Officers Electoral Board holding that petitioner’s name not be certified for the general primary election ballot. Petitioner argued that the board exceeded its authority when it sustained an objection petition on grounds not raised in the petition. The appellate court reversed the board’s decision finding petitioner’s nominating papers insufficient and ordered that the candidates name be certified and included on the ballot for the primary.
