Federal 7th Circuit Court
Civil Court
Fair Labor Standards Act
Plaintiffs, current and former shuttle truck drivers who drove delivery routes in the State of Illinois, filed lawsuits alleging that defendants failed to pay them overtime wages in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act, Illinois Minimum Wage Law, and the Chicago Minimum Wage Law. The district court granted summary judgment in favor of the defendants and plaintiffs appealed. The Seventh Circuit affirmed, finding that the district court correctly concluded that the routes driven by the plaintiffs were part of an interstate shipment. (SYKES and ST. EVE, concurring)
