Summers v. Catlin

The appellate court considered a certified question regarding petitioner’s request for a waiver of the cost of transcripts on appeal where petitioner previously had been granted a full waiver of court fees pursuant to Supreme Court Ruel 298. The appellate court answered the certified question in the affirmative, finding that where a litigant has been granted a fee waiver under Rule 298, court costs extend to the cost of transcripts as that term has been defined by 735 ILCS 5/5-105.
