FOID Card Act
The Illinois Supreme Court considered section 8(n) of the Firearm Owners Identification Card Act, which pertains to the suspension of FOID cards of individuals charged with a felony offense. The circuit court ruled that section 8(n) of the Act was facially unconstitutional and the matter was appealed directly to the Illinois supreme court. The supreme court vacated the judgment, finding that the appeal was moot and that no mootness exception applied to the facts of the case.
