In a dissolution of marriage matter, the appellate court considered the merits of petitioner’s appeal from an order of the circuit court awarding child support. The appellate court had previously dismissed the petitioner’s appeal for lack of jurisdiction, but granted his petition for rehearing to allow him to supplement the record with evidence of the court’s jurisdiction. The appellate court then withdrew its prior decision and considered the merits of petitioner’s appeal and affirmed the trial court order, finding that the trial court had the authority to rule on respondent’s petition for rule to show cause and motion to modify child support and did not err in its findings on either motion.
