Federal 7th Circuit Court
Criminal Court
Sentencing
Defendant pled guilty to drug charges connected with his role in a drug trafficking scheme and was sentenced to 150 months in prison. The district court applied two sentencing enhancements: one for being the leader of the drug scheme and one for maintaining a property for the purpose of distributing drugs. On appeal, defendant argued that the district court applied the sentencing enhancements in error. The Seventh Circuit affirmed, finding that the district court properly applied the enhancements when calculating defendant’s sentence. (LEE and PRYOR, concurring)
