Illinois environmental groups ask for the public’s support in protecting the Shawnee Forest’s roadless areas

The U.S. Department of Agriculture is proposing to rescind the 2001 Roadless Area Conservation Rule — a move that would strip protections from more than 44 million acres of national forest land nationwide.
