Plaintiff filed a case seeking a declaration as to which of two competing judgments had priority, one entered in its favor in Canada and one entered in the defendant’s favor in Illinois. The circuit court dismissed the complaint for lack of subject matter jurisdiction and plaintiff appealed. The appellate court reversed and remanded, finding that the complaint for declaratory judgment presented a justiciable matter but directing the trial court to conclude whether the venue was proper.
