Termination of Parental Rights
Respondent appealed from a trial court order terminating her parental rights and challenged the circuit court’s factual finding that she was an “unfit person” under two sections of the Adoption Act. The appellate court affirmed, finding that the trial court’s order was not against the manifest weight of the evidence where respondent failed to make reasonable progress toward reunification and that respondent’s dishonesty was a failure to cooperate with DCFS.
