Illinois Appellate Court
Criminal Court
Evidence
Defendant was convicted, after jury trial, of armed robbery. Although court erred in admitting State's bloodhound tracking evidence, evidence was not closely balanced and thus it did not alone severely threaten to tip scales of justice against Defendant. As Defendant cannot show prejudice by defense counsel's failure to challenge bloodhound tracking evidence, no ineffective assistance of counsel.
