Plaintiff sued for injuries sustained when vehicle he was driving was struck by ambulance was en route to pick up a patient for non-emergency transport. Section 3.150(a) of the EMS (Emergency Medical Services) Act immunizes the operator of an ambulance from civil liability for negligence committed in the non-emergency transport of a patient, but not when ambulance is not in the process of transporting a patient to a health care facility.  Thus, immunity provision of EMS Act does not apply.
