Defendant was convicted, after bench trial, of domestic battery. Court found that Defendant made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature by grabbing his wife about the body, when Defendant attempted to grab her purse, as he suspected documents of title to his boat were located in the purse. Defendant's use of force against his wife was excessive and unreasonable. (SCHMIDT and WRIGHT, concurring.)
