Illinois Appellate Court
Criminal Court
Jurisdiction
Defendant pled guilty to a drug offense and was sentenced to probation, which was revoked after she violated the probation conditions. In the revocation matter, defendant raised a claim of ineffective assistance of counsel, which the trial court struck for being untimely. Defendant appealed and the appellate held that the circuitĀ court properly struck the motion because it lacked the jurisdiction to consider it. (TURNER and ZENOFF, concurring)
