Maintenance
Respondent appealed from a trial court order awarding maintenance to his ex-wife, arguing that the trial court abused its discretion because respondent’s spouse could meet her own financial needs without maintenance. The appellate court affirmed, finding that fixed maintenance was required for petitioner to have a reasonable approximation of the standard of living established during the marriage and, as a result, the trial court’s decision was not against the manifest weight of the evidence or an abuse of discretion.
