Illinois Appellate Court
Civil Court
Employment Law
Plaintiff appealed from a circuit court order affirming the decision of defendant to terminate plaintiff from his employment as a tenured teacher. Plaintiff argued on appeal that the board failed to prove an irremediable cause for dismissal and that the board’s findings were against the manifest weight of the evidence. The appellate court affirmed, finding that the board did not err in its determination where plaintiff did not show any remorse for his actions and where a warning could not have corrected the effects that plaintiff’s conduct had on the school, faculty, and students.
