Illinois Appellate Court
Criminal Court
Pre-Trial Detention
Consolidated appeals arising out of a pretrial detention order entered against the defendant in which the trial court denied pretrial release on the basis that the State had met its burden of proof under both the dangerousness and willful flight prongs. The appellate court reversed and remanded for a new hearing, finding that the trial court abused its discretion by failing to make an adequate record to allow for meaningful review of its exercise of discretion.
