Defendant pleaded guilty to arson  and was sentenced to eight years in prison. The district court also ordered him to pay restitution. On appeal, defendant challenged only the restitution order, arguing it was not supported by a proper investigation and determination of the loss amount. The Seventh Circuit affirmed, explaining that defendant could not object to the amount of restitution for the first time on appeal since he had the opportunity to review the materials, including the insurance company’s documentation of the victim’s loss, prior to sentencing.
