ISBA Live and On-Demand CLE Programs
As part of your Illinois State Bar Association membership, you have access to 15 hours of free continuing legal education each year, covering an ever-expanding range of timely, practice-focused topics. From developments in civil practice and family law to emerging issues in artificial intelligence, environmental law, and privacy and information security, ISBA’s CLE programming reflects the remarkable breadth and depth of our profession.
The current CLE offerings feature programs developed by ISBA’s diverse sections and standing committees, including Administrative Law, Agricultural Law, Business Advice and Financial Planning, Construction Law, Criminal Justice, Elder Law, Environmental and Natural Resources Law, Family Law, Health Care Law, Labor and Employment Law, Local Government Law, Real Estate Law, and Trusts and Estates, among many others. New and rapidly evolving areas are also represented through programming by the Artificial Intelligence & the Practice of Law Committee, the Legal Technology Committee, and the Privacy and Information Security Law Section. Whether your practice focuses on litigation, transactional work, government service, or in-house counsel responsibilities, ISBA offers education created by lawyers for lawyers—practical, relevant, and tailored to Illinois practitioners.
ISBA’s high-quality CLE programming depends on member participation. Each program is the product of attorneys who volunteer their time to present, prepare written materials, moderate panels, and collaborate with ISBA CLE staff to ensure the programs address the issues that matter most to our members. Your insight and participation are vital to continuing this tradition of excellence.
Members are encouraged to become involved by proposing topics, serving as presenters or panelists, moderating discussions, or assisting in the preparation of written materials for upcoming programs. You do not need to be a long-time member or experienced speaker to contribute. ISBA values new voices, diverse perspectives, and practical experience from lawyers across all regions and practice areas in Illinois.
Participating in CLE programming offers significant professional benefits. By sharing your knowledge, you enhance your reputation among colleagues, contribute to the advancement of the profession, and help ensure that Illinois lawyers remain informed and competent in a changing legal landscape. Presenters and contributors may also earn CLE credit for approved participation and enjoy opportunities to network with peers from other sections and committees.
If you are interested in helping shape future ISBA programming, please contact your Section Council or Committee Chair, or reach out directly to the ISBA CLE Department at cle@isba.org.
Whether you wish to present, moderate, assist with research, or contribute written materials, your involvement strengthens our community of lawyers and enhances the quality of CLE available to all members. Together, we can ensure that ISBA’s continuing legal education remains among the most respected, relevant, and accessible programs in the nation.
