Civil Court
Prejudgment Interest
After entry of an arbitration award in her favor in a personal injury case, plaintiff sought statutory costs, including filing fees and summons fees as well as prejudgment interest as the prevailing party. The circuit court denied her request and plaintiff appealed. The appellate court affirmed the trial court’s order denying plaintiff’s request for statutory costs, but reversed the judgment denying plaintiff’s request for prejudgment interest.
