Conference Guidelines
These sessions are intended to be a discussion where state bars openly share information identifying important issues facing state bar associations and learning from one another.
The state leading discussion on the topic should plan a five to ten minute presentation on the subject. After presenting the subject, the leader should go around the table seeking comments from each of the other states.
Over the years we have had endless discussions about handouts and PowerPoints. Custom and tradition say we don’t allow either handouts or PowerPoints. Every year someone breaks these traditions either because of insurmountable pressure from a volunteer leader or bad judgement on the part of the executive director. Our hope is that we will avoid handouts and PowerPoints again this year. However, as a creative alternative you can consider using YouTube or some other visual aid available on the internet. Most likely all attendees will have a device, or they can lean over and look at their neighbors.
