CHICAGO, IL – In a non-partisan voter education initiative, the 33,000-member Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) has placed ads in 280 print and online newspaper outlets statewide that encourage citizens to vote for qualified judges.

Appearing over a two-week period leading up to election day, Tuesday, November 2, the black-and-white ads feature a computer screen with a message about the importance of being an informed voter with a link to the ISBA’s ratings of judicial candidates throughout Illinois

The ads will be published in all Illinois daily newspapers and in both the print and on-line editions of 13 daily newspapers, including Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun-Times, Daily Herald, Bloomington Pantagraph, Champaign Gazette, Decatur Herald, Springfield Journal-Register, Belleville News Democrat, St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Peoria Journal-Star, Moline Dispatch, Rock Island Argus and LaSalle News-Tribune. Springfield’s alternative newspaper, Illinois Times, will also run ads in print and on-line.

The ISBA, with offices in Springfield and Chicago, provides professional services to Illinois lawyers, and education and services to the public.
