James McCluskey Elected Secretary of Illinois State Bar Association

James F. McCluskey, a founding member of the law firm Momkus McCluskey, LLC, in Lisle, has been elected secretary of the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA).

Long active in the ISBA, he is a member of the Board of Governors and previously served as a member of its Assembly and was chairman of its Agenda and Practice Committee. He has served on its Civil Practice & Procedure Council and its Allerton House Committee.

McCluskey, who concentrates his practice in the trial of professional and commercial liability cases, has been active in several other state and local organizations including the DuPage County Bar Association where he served as its director, general counsel and president. He is also a past president of the DuPage County Bar Foundation. In 2008, he won the DuPage County Bar Association’s prestigious “Lawyer of the Year” award for distinguished leadership and meritorious service, and in 2005 he received the “Ralph A. Gabric” Award for Professional Excellence.

McCluskey, who resides in Batavia with his wife Jeanne and their two children, received his B.S. in 1976 from Elmhurst College, in Elmhurst, Ill., his J.D. in 1979 from Northern Illinois University College of Law, in DeKalb, and his L.L.M. in 1988 from The John Marshall Law School, in Chicago.
