IJA/ISBA Joint Midyear Meeting to Feature Attorney General Madigan, CLE Programs, Dinner Honoring Supreme Court

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan will be the keynote speaker at a noon luncheon on Friday, December 11, during the Joint Midyear Meeting of the Illinois Judges Association (IJA) and Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) at the Sheraton Chicago, 301 E. North Water Street.

The joint meeting, to be held December 10-12, will include the annual Illinois Bar Foundation (IBF) Fellows Awards Breakfast on Friday at 7:30 a.m. IBF will honor Jennifer Rosato Perea, Dean at DePaul University College of Law, with the “Honorary Fellows Award,” and Paula Hudson Holderman of Winston & Strawn, with the “Distinguished Service to Law and Society Award.”

Two joint IJA/ISBA programs will be presented on Friday morning: “Poetry and the Law: Remembering to be Inspired” and “Poetry and the Law: Remembering to be Inspired.” Additionally, the ISBA will conduct a Master Series CLE seminar featuring Joshua M. Greene, author of Justice at Dachau on “An American Prosecutor's Story: The Holocaust and the Dachau War Crimes Trial.”

The ISBA, ISBA Mutual Insurance Company, and The Chicago Bar Association will host a reception and dinner Friday evening for the Illinois Supreme Court, with remarks delivered by Justice Anne Burke. The ISBA Assembly, the association’s policy-making body, will convene on Saturday morning.
