Sponsored by ISBA Standing Committee on Law Office Management & Economics
Don't miss the opportunity to learn once and for all how to handle client referrals! You receive an inquiry from a personal injury client but you don't practice personal injury law.  What do you do? What questions do you ask? Do you refer the case to another attorney and receive a referral fee?  If so, what ethical rules apply? Are there risks to accepting a fee? Is the referral fee interest legally sufficient? Get the answers to these and more from our distinguished speaker, Daniel M. Breen of Breen Goril Law in Chicago as he discusses what happens in a personal injury case from start to finish; the relationship between the referral and referring attorney; how to navigate the ethical rules that apply to referral fee arrangements; the strategies for asking for and the risks of accepting referral fees; the technical and ethical requirements needed to perfect a referral fee interest; referral fees for non-PI cases; and much more!
