    Grischow appointed Vice-Chairperson of the Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Professional Responsibility

    The U.S. law firm of Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP is pleased to announce that Raylene DeWitte Grischow — a Springfield, Illinois-based attorney in the firm's Government Practice Group — has been appointed by Illinois Supreme Court Justice Rita Garman to serve as Vice-Chairperson of the Illinois Supreme Court Committee on Professional Responsibility effective January 1, 2017. Grischow has been a member of the committee since 2012.

    The committee advises and makes recommendations on matters relating to legal ethics and professional responsibility. Its members are selected based on their reputations for professionalism and their past contributions to the bar and to their communities. As vice-chair, Grischow will assist the committee chairperson in the administration of the committee and reviewing the topics and issues presented to the committee for review and consideration. She will succeed to the chairperson position on January 1, 2018.

    John Dale Stobbs 1932-2016

    John Dale Stobbs, 83, died at 9:40 a.m. in his home on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. 

    He was born November 28, 1932 in Alton the son of the late John and Myrtle (Uphoff) Stobbs.

    He married Mary (DeCicco) on November 28, 1959 in Washington, DC and she survives. Also surviving are seven children; Tracey Stobbs Riordan of Ballwin, Missouri, Monica Jude Stobbs of Charleston, South Carolina, Elizabeth Dunn Stobbs of Chicago, John Dale Stobbs II (Rosario) of Godfrey, Mary Jennifer Margarida of Edwardsville, Stephen Stobbs (Katie) of Godfrey and Kathryn Santellano (Don) of St. Charles, Missouri, Fifteen grandchildren, and one sister; Janice Brown of St. Louis, Missouri. He was preceded in death by one son in law; Gerard Riordan and one grandson; Stephen "Danny" Stobbs.

    Supreme Court appoints Charles C. Hall as circuit judge in Fifth Judicial District

    Justice Rita B. Garman and the Illinois Supreme Court have announced the appointment of Charles C. Hall as a Circuit Judge in the Fifth Judicial Circuit.

    Mr. Hall has been appointed to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Claudia Anderson. His appointment takes effect on March 1, 2017, and concludes on December 3, 2018, when the position will be filled by the 2018 General Election.

    DeBlaey joins Bozeman, Neighbour, Patton & Noe, LLP

    The law firm of Bozeman, Neighbour, Patton & Noe, LLP is pleased to announce that Cole M. DeBlaey has joined the firm as an associate attorney.

    DeBlaey graduated from Alleman High School in 2009 and St. Ambrose University in 2013. DeBlaey graduated Magna Cum Laude from Norther Illinois University College of Law in May 2016. During law school, he interd for a local law firm and a corporation in Boston, Massachusetts.

    Supreme Court Justice Garman announces vacancy in Sixth Judicial Circuit

    Justice Rita B. Garman of the Supreme Court of Illinois has begun an application process for a Resident Circuit Court vacancy in the Sixth Judicial Circuit.

    The vacancy will be created by the retirement of Chief Judge Dan L. Flannell on January 13, 2017. Judge Flannell has been a Resident Circuit Judge since 1988.

    Willis R. (“Bill”) Tribler 1934-2016

    Willis R. (“Bill”) Tribler, a founding member and senior partner of the law firm of Tribler Orpett & Meyer, died early Saturday, December 3, after a brief hospitalization.

    An unquestionably brilliant lawyer and strategic thinker, Bill Tribler was admired as a mentor and friend to hundreds in the legal community, not only in Chicago but throughout Illinois. Bill specialized in the defense of civil litigation. He was a renowned expert in the fields of professional liability and insurance coverage.  Bill was very proud of being a lawyer and adhered to and championed the highest ethical standards. In keeping with those ethical standards, Bill served on the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission (ARDC) Oversight Committee from 2004-2014, and on the ARDC Inquiry Board from 2004-2013.

    Justice Garman announces formation of judicial screening committee to fill vacancy in Fifth District

    Illinois Supreme Court Justice Rita B. Garman announced today the formation of a judicial screening committee for the Fifth Judicial Circuit.

    The screening committee was formed for the purpose of assessing the qualifications of those persons who have applied for appointment to the Office of Judge of the Circuit Court for the Fifth Judicial Circuit created by the resignation of Judge Claudia Anderson on November 30, 2016. Under the Illinois Constitution, the vacancy will be filled by Supreme Court appointment.

    Illinois associate judge appointed in the Fourth Judicial Circuit

    Michael J. Tardy, Director of the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts, announced today that the Fourth Judicial Circuit judges voted to select Amanda S. Ade-Harlow as associate judge of the Fourth Judicial Circuit.

    Ms. Ade-Harlow received her undergraduate degree in 2001 from the University of Illinois-Springfield in Springfield, Illinois and her Juris Doctor in 2003 from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. Ms. Ade-Harlow is currently affiliated with the Shelby County Public Defender's Office in Shelbyville, Illinois.
