In order to execute the AMS conversion process, beginning on January 21, 2026, the ISBA website and all products, programs, services, and benefits accessed through it will be unavailable. The Illinois State Bar Association’s Lawyer Finder Service provides referrals to local lawyers Mondays through Fridays. The Service makes referrals in a number of areas of law. For the month of December, 2025, the ISBA helped 614 people in need of legal services find lawyers.

The names of the 11 Fellows selected to participate in the 2026 Rural Practice Fellowship Program, which is designed to meet the critical need of providing access to justice for those living in rural areas with a declining lawyer population, have been announced.

On December 12, the Hon. April G. Troemper received the Presidential Commendation from ISBA Immediate Past President Sonni Choi Williams in recognition of her outstanding service on the Standing Committee of Judicial Advisory Polls. Judge Troemper was honored for her leadership of the Committee, including guiding the drafting of revised poll questions that were unanimously approved by the ISBA Board of Governors. She currently serves as the Committee’s Ex-Officio.

The ISBA Springfield and Chicago offices will be closed for the holidays beginning Wednesday, Dec. 24. They will reopen on Monday, Jan. 5, 2026. During this time, members can expect the following:
- E-Clips will not be delivered for the duration of this period
- Illinois Lawyer Now will not be delivered on Thursday, Dec. 25
- The Bar News will not be delivered on Thursday, Jan. 1
All business and e-newsletter distribution will resume as usual on Jan. 5, 2026.

The Young Lawyers Division (YLD) Pro Bono Committee is proud to be hosting an online food drive with food banks in three major areas of Illinois. Donations will be distributed to food banks in the Chicagoland area, St. Louis metropolitan area, and Central Illinois area.
Virtual donations will be graciously accepted through December 15, 2025.
The Chicagoland area food drive will distribute goods throughout Cook County.

The Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) is warning members about a phishing scam involving fraudulent emails that appear to come from Executive Director Robert E. Craghead.
The scam email, which has been reported by multiple members, is designed to look like an official communication from the ISBA. It uses a deceptive email address — robert.craghead@ isba.org.sendcrp.com — that is not affiliated with the ISBA.
