On November 5, 2025, new attorneys were sworn into the practice of law in Illinois during ceremonies held across all five judicial districts. The Second Judicial District ceremony took place at Hemmen's Cultural Center, located at 45 Symphony Way in Elgin, where Justice Christopher Kennedy administered the oath to 85 new attorneys. Illinois State Bar Association 2nd Vice President Sarah E. Toney offered remarks during the ceremony.

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) is accepting applications for one attorney position.

We honored ISBA President 2024-25, Sonni Choi Williams, and IBF President 2024-25, John L. Nisivaco, for their service to the Illinois State Bar Association, the Illinois Bar Foundation, and the legal community on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Embers, 933 S. State Street, in Lockport.

The ISBA’s Rural Practice Initiative Committee created the Rural Practice Fellowship Program in 2020 to increase access to attorneys in rural areas of Illinois. The aim of the Program is to connect rural and small-town attorneys and law firms looking to hire summer law clerks and full-time associates with law students and attorneys interested in practicing law in rural communities in Illinois.
