The Illinois Supreme Court heard oral arguments on Sept. 18 at Lewis & Clark Community College in Godfrey.
The arguments at Lewis & Clark Community College were the court’s first road trip since March 15, 2018, when arguments were heard at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign.

Swanson, Martin & Bell, LLP partner Michael W. Drumke has been named chair of the Cannabis Law and Policy Committee of the Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section (TIPS) of American Bar Association (ABA) for a one-year term.
Drumke’s practice focuses on complex business litigation matters, including toxic tort, product liability, pharmaceutical, class action and commercial litigation. He serves as national trial counsel in mass tort litigation across the country and has served as national coordinating counsel for manufacturers in asbestos-related litigation and lead counsel for several premises owners named in toxic tort litigation in the midwest. David McLaughlin Lynch, 71, of Dunlap, died on Friday, Aug. 27, 2019.
David was born on Oct. 31, 1947, in Dunlap, to William and Patricia Lynch. A graduate of Richwoods High School, David went on to graduate from Monmouth College. David was a U.S. Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War. David then obtained his Juris Doctorate at the University of Illinois. He began his own law firm, Lynch & Bloom, and was a practicing attorney for over 40 years.
