Midyear Meeting Registration

All attendees are required to register for the Joint Midyear Meeting. Advance Registration is accepted via our online form only.

“Midyear Meeting Registration” option provides attendees with access to business meetings, joint programming, and hospitality throughout the meeting – including the Member Appreciation Reception (Thursday). The Midyear Meeting Registration fee covers generous hospitality, and room set up, and charges for joint programming, section council, committee, board, and Assembly meetings. All other programs and events are separately ticketed to permit flexibility and choices for those coming to the Joint Midyear Meeting.

Early Bird Registration is available online until December 5 and on-site registration begins December 11 in the Clark Room located on the Third Floor at JW Marriott Chicago. Attendees participating in any Joint Midyear Meeting event, program or business meeting who do not pre-register, will be assessed the on-site fees. The deadline for online registration is Friday, December 5. On-site registration will be available beginning Thursday, December 11 in Clark located on the Third Floor at JW Marriott Chicago.

IJA Members

Illinois Judges Association members who are attending either the IJA board meeting or luncheon only are not required to register for any other portion of the Joint Midyear Meeting. However, participation in any Joint Midyear Meeting events or programs, including but not limited to receptions, joint programming, section council, committee or Assembly meetings, does require Midyear Meeting Registration.

IBF Champion’s Breakfast Tickets

Tickets for the Champion’s Breakfast must be purchased through the IBF directly. Attendees who are attending the Champion’s Breakfast only are not required to register for any other portion of the Joint Midyear Meeting. However, participation in any Joint Midyear Meeting events or programs, including but not limited to receptions, joint programming, section council, committee or Assembly meetings, does require Midyear Meeting Registration.

CLE Registration

Attendees who register for ISBA CLE programs only are not required to register for the Joint Midyear Meeting. However, participation in any Joint Midyear Meeting event or program, including but not limited to receptions, joint programming, section council, committee or Assembly meetings, does require Joint Midyear Meeting registration. Holiday Reception

Attendees who wish to attend the Holiday Reception in honor of the Supreme Court only are not required to register for any other portion of the Joint Midyear Meeting. However, participation in any Joint Midyear Meeting event or program, including but not limited to receptions, joint programming, section council, committee or Assembly meetings, does require Joint Midyear Meeting registration.

Refunds

Refunds, including the Midyear Meeting registration fee, events, meal functions, and programs will only be refunded for cancellations received in writing by Friday, December 5. Cancellations and requests for refunds should be directed to events@isba.org.

Tickets

Name badges and tickets, if applicable, for programming and events will be held for pick-up at ISBA Registration located in Clark on the Third Floor at JW Marriott Chicago.

Business Meeting Expense Reimbursement

For Annual and Midyear Meetings, the Association is required to reserve a significant block of guest rooms at the headquarters hotel as well as guarantee that members will use a large percentage of the reserved rooms. As a result, to be eligible for reimbursement of authorized lodging expenses through attendance at business meetings, including the Assembly Meeting, attendees who will be requesting reimbursement of expenses in conjunction with these meetings must stay at the headquarters hotels.

In the event the room block sells out prior to the reservation deadline, members having to seek alternate arrangements will be eligible to seek reimbursement pursuant to the Reimbursement Policy provided the alternate reservation was secured before the reservation deadline and after the headquarters hotel confirmed the block was sold out.

A Reimbursement Form will be distributed at the conclusion of each Business Meeting, including the Assembly Meeting, and must be submitted within 45 days of the meeting. Read the Reimbursement Policy for Assembly, Standing Committees and Section Councils.

Accommodations

Our goal is to host meetings that enable all individuals to participate fully and equally. Please email the Midyear Meeting Coordinator at least two weeks prior to the program to allow us time to make any reasonable accommodations that would allow you to participate more fully. Venues for ISBA conferences are selected for maximum accessibility.

Members with dietary restrictions or food allergies must notify the Midyear Meeting Coordinator at least two weeks in advance of the event in order to provide the venue with necessary time to accommodate the request. Although we make every effort possible to accommodate all requests, we are unable to guarantee special dietary requests made on site.

Lodging

Headquarter hotel: JW Marriott Chicago | 151 West Adams Street | Chicago

Conference rate: $212 single or double occupancy, plus applicable taxes.

Deadline: The deadline for making reservations for lodging is before 5:00 p.m. on November 17. Reservations received after this date will be subject to availability.

Reservations: Book online.

Cancellations: A one-night deposit is required for all reservations. The deposit will be forfeited for all no-shows, early departures, and cancellations less than 72 hours prior to arrival. Charges assessed by the venue for no-shows, early departures, and cancellations are not eligible for reimbursement from the ISBA and will be charged to the person who secured the reservation.

Special note: In order to be eligible for reimbursement of authorized lodging expenses incurred through attendance at business meetings, including the Assembly Meeting, attendees must stay at JW Marriott Chicago. Please refer to the “Business Meeting Expense Reimbursement” section for additional information.

Parking:

JW Marriott Valet Parking:  

  • 0-3 hours: $31
  • 3-6 hours: $55
  • 6-24 hours $88 (overnight, includes “in and out” privileges)

*Please note: Parking prices are set by JW Marriott and subject to change without notice. The overnight fee is valid until 12:00 p.m. on check-out day. Any time past 12:00 p.m. will be billed at an additional $12 per hour. Valet parking only with in/out privileges included in fee. Large SUVs and other oversized vehicles not allowed.

Health and Wellness Statement

The City of Chicago has removed all its mask, vaccination, and facility capacity requirements with respect to the Covid-19 public health emergency. See current information and guidance about Chicago public health precautions. Members and others who test positive for Covid immediately prior to the event, exhibit Covid or Covid like symptoms, or who recently have come into close contact with a person who has tested positive for Covid, are asked not to attend. See additional CDC Covid-19 guidance. During the Joint Midyear Meeting, all facility, local, and state health and safety protocols will be applicable. The ISBA reserves the right to modify, cancel, or reschedule this event if health and safety restrictions warrant it.
