Legislation
The Section Council reviewed 116 bills that may affect their members’ practice area. Highlights of the most recent legislative session include:
- House Bill 24 is the ISBA Construction Law Section Council’s proposition to add a reciprocal attorney’s fees provision to the Home Repair and Remodeling Act.
- House Bill 2563 amends the Common Interest Community Association Act. It requires a common interest association to conduct and update a reserve study every 5 years.
- Senate Bill 2047 creates the Design Professional Self-Certification Act.
