Many senior solo and small-firm practitioners are motivated to sell their practices while less-seasoned lawyers recognize buying opportunities to build their existing practices.

Illinois Supreme Court Announces New Policy on Portable Electronic Devices

The Illinois Supreme Court announced today the adoption of a policy which will require every state courthouse in Illinois to adopt individual orders or rules regarding the use of portable electronic devices in their courthouse buildings and in their courtrooms. 

In adopting this policy, the Court recognizes that portable electronic devices such as cell phones, computers, tablets, and e-book readers are essential tools of today’s society.

Illinois Supreme Court Appoints Kate L. McCracken ARDC Commissioner

The Illinois Supreme Court has appointed Kate L. McCracken of St. Charles to serve as a Commissioner of the Attorney Registration & Disciplinary Commission (A.R.D.C.) effective on January 1, 2022, and expiring on December 31, 2024. The A.R.D.C. is the Supreme Court agency that investigates allegations of lawyer wrongdoing in Illinois.
