The ISBA High School Mock Trial Invitational
March 12 - 14, 2021
Volunteer for the 2021 ISBA High School Mock Trial Invitational, which will be held virtually on March 12 to 14, 2021 via Zoom!!
The Invitational gives Illinois high school students a chance to learn what it is like to prepare and present a legal case before Illinois courts. Students gain an understanding of the justice system and improve their knowledge, skills, and ability to work as a team and articulate in a reasoned, thoughtful manner.
This year's case is a criminal case involving a fatal drug overdose during a party. The Defendant, Jordan Markson, has been charged with providing the prescription pills that killed the victim and for possessing a controlled substance and has pleaded not guilty to both charges.
To volunteer, fill out the volunteer form below by March 1, 2021. After signing up, you will receive information about the program, including how to participate virtually. You will need an internet connection sufficient to participate via Zoom. Volunteers must log in to the competition one hour prior to their sessions for orientation, so please take this into consideration.
The case materials and other information are available on the ISBA High School Mock Trial webpage
