DuPage County Bar Association issues judicial candidate recommendations

The DuPage County Bar Association has issued recommendations on the candidates in the February 2, 2010 Primary Election for Judge in the 18th Judicial Circuit, which encompasses DuPage County, and for Judge in the 2nd Appellate District, which encompasses northern Illinois with the exception of Cook County. The names and ratings of each candidate for Circuit Judge are as follows:
  • Dorothy F. French -- Highly Recommended
  • Daniel P. Guerin -- Highly Recommended
  • Brian R. McKillip -- Highly Recommended
  • Ronald D. Sutter -- Highly Recommended
The names and ratings of each candidate for Appellate Justice are as follows:
  • Ann B. Jorgensen -- Highly Recommended
  • Donna Kathryn Kelly -- Insufficient information to make recommendation
  • Kenneth Moy -- Not presently recommended
  • Mary S. Schostok -- Highly Recommended
The recommendations are the result of an investigation and screening process conducted by the DuPage County Bar Association's Judiciary Committee. The committee consists of 19 attorneys representing various years of practice experience selected from among the 2,200 member attorneys of the DuPage Bar. Candidates were evaluated upon the following criteria: 1) legal knowledge and ability which includes professional experience; 2) integrity; 3) judicial temperament; 4) diligence and punctuality; and 5) health. Following investigation and candidate interviews, the committee rates each by one of the following categories: "Highly Recommended, " "Recommended," or "Not Presently Recommended." Candidates not participating in the screening-interview process are rated: "Not Interviewed-No Recommendation."
