ISBA Law and Leadership Institute starts Tuesday

The ISBA Illinois Law and Leadership Institute will kick off next Tuesday at John Marshall Law School. The Institute is a pilot program for 35 students entering the 9th and 10th grades. It is designed to increase the academic aspirations of the students by exposing them to a variety of careers in the legal field. Students will participate in classroom activities and take field trips to law firms and courthouses. The Law and Leadership Institute is a state-wide initiative undertaken in collaboration with the legal community and designed to assist minority youth in achieving academic success beyond high school and encouraging them to aspire to a career in the law. This program is being administered by the ISBA’s Standing Committee on Diversity Pipeline with the assistance of Illinois lawyers who share a similar commitment. The ISBA will be closely monitoring this pilot program with a goal of expanding it to other locations in the state. Find out more about the program at www.isba.org/lawandleadershipprogram
