Leo Herzel 1923-2011

Former Mayer Brown co-chair Leo Herzel passed away on July 21 at his suburban Chicago home. Mr. Herzel was an expert in securities law and is known for his theories on economics and communications that influenced three Nobel Prize-winning economists.

He attended the University of Iowa and the London School of Economics before moving to Chicago in 1949 to study at the University of Illinois and the University of Chicago. He led Mayer Brown from 1984-1991.
