Eric Joseph Lieberman, 67 of Galena, died Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque, Iowa. 

He was born October 29, 1950, in Chicago to Esther (Kraus) and Archie Lieberman, the noted photojournalist.

He graduated with a law degree from Loyola University in 1978 and practiced law in the Chicago area until 1996, when he became in-house counsel for the software firm First Logic in La Crosse, Wis. The firm was on the verge of bankruptcy until Eric became president. He is fondly remembered by the hundreds of First Logic employees whose jobs were saved and whose lives were improved by his ethics and style of management. Eric was a visionary and was working for the past year to help a crypto currency company navigate the legal system. 

He is survived by his mother, Esther; his brother, Robert; his wife, June Shellene; his step-son, Taylor Schenone; and his four granddaughters, Hailey, Amber, Leah and Raegen. 

Eric was preceded in death by his father; his son, Seth; brother, Kurt; and three uncles.
