Momkus McCluskey Congratulates Exiting Partner James F. McCluskey on Judgeship, Announces Name Change

ISBA President James F. McCluskey, a founding member of Momkus McCluskey LLC, will join the 18th Judicial Circuit Court as an associate Judge. 

The firm will now be known as Momkus LLC. Founding partner Ed Momkus will continue to lead the practice, which offers legal services in a variety of fields including business law; commercial and civil litigation; appellate practice; estate planning, trusts, and asset protection; family law and divorce; and insurance litigation and coverage.

“While I am sad to see Jim leave us, there are few people I would trust more behind the bench than him. He will be a dedicated jurist and I know that the 18th circuit courts will be well-served with him on the bench” said Momkus. “The firm’s focus has been and always will be on delivering the best possible service to our clients, and we will continue to do just that as Momkus LLC.”

McCluskey was a commercial litigator who handled 60 jury trials and built one of DuPage County’s largest law firms. Long active in the ISBA, he is a member of the Board of Governors and previously served as a member of the Assembly and was chairman of its Agenda Committee. He has served on the ISBA Civil Practice & Procedure Section Council and its Allerton House Committee.

McCluskey resides in Naperville. He received a bachelor’s degree from Elmhurst College, a J.D. from Northern Illinois University College of Law, and an L.L.M. from the John Marshall Law School.

Jim McCluskey is one of the brightest and hardest-working lawyers I have ever had the pleasure to have known. He will be a wonderful addition to eh 18th Judicial Circuit.
