Illinois Court Closures

Due to inclement weather, the following Illinois courts will be closed this week:

  • Second District Appellate Court Courthouse (Elgin) – closed until noon on Thursday, Jan. 31
  • McLean County Law and Justice Center – closed as a result of water main break
  • The District Court for the Northern District of Illinois – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30
  • Champaign County – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30
  • Kankakee County – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30
  • Kane County – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30
  • Iroquois County – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30
  • DuPage County (all divisions, including field courts) – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30
  • McHenry County  – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30
  • Lake County – closed on Jan. 30-31, with the exception of bond court, which will be conducted at 1:30 pm on Jan. 31 in Courtroom T-110
  • Knox County – closed at noon Tuesday, Jan. 29 and all day Wednesday, Jan. 30
  • The First District Appellate Court in Chicago – closed on Jan. 30-31
  • Ogle County – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30
  • Circuit Court of Cook County – closed on Jan. 30-31
  • DeKalb County Courthouse – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30
  • Henderson County – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30
  • Warren County – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30
  • Peoria County – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30
  • The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30
  • Kendall County Courthouse – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30 and will reopen at noon Thursday, Jan. 31
  • The Will County Courthouse and Will County Circuit Clerk – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30 and will reopen at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31
  • Vermillion County – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30
  • Coles County – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30
  • The 14th Judicial Circuit (Rock Island, Whiteside, Mercer and Henry) – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30 (Henry County will also be closed on Thursday, Jan. 31)
  • The 15th Judicial Circuit (Carroll, Jo Daviess, Lee, Ogle, Stephenson) – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30 (Lee County will also be closed on Thursday, Jan. 31)
  • Winnebago County – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30
  • Boone County – closed on Wednesday, Jan. 30

Ogle County Courthouse closed Jan. 30 per Administrative Order. 

The Stephenson County Courthouse will be closed Wednesday.

 WILL COUNTY – Will County Executive Larry Walsh and the acting Chief Judge David Carlson have announced the closure of all county buildings on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 and they will reopen at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 31.

 

     “With the predicted record low temperatures, the acting Chief Judge and I have agreed it is wise to close the county buildings on Wednesday, Jan. 30 to ensure the safety of our employees and our residents” Walsh said. “And we strongly encourage everyone to stay home tomorrow unless it is absolutely necessary.”

 

      Residents can refer to the Will County Emergency Management Agency’s site for information about warming centers or other winter safety tips www.willcountyema.org.

 

     Walsh said normal business operations will resume at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Coles County Courthouse will be closed on Wednesday.
