Trial lawyer Todd A. Smith, a founding partner of Smith LaCien LLP, has been included in the 2021 Edition of The Best Lawyers in America.

Since it was first published in 1983, Best Lawyers has become universally regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence in over 75 countries including the U.S.  Lawyers on list are divided by geographic region and practice areas. Smith has been a Best Lawyer since 1997. He has won its “Lawyer of the Year” award in recognition of the highest overall peer feedback in Injury law in Illinois. He was also recognized for his Product Liability Litigation experience and again for his work in Medical Malpractice Law.

A past president of the American Association for Justice, Smith now serves as chair of the AAJ’s Endowment Fund and is a board member of the organization’s Center for Constitutional Litigation. Smith is also a past president of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America and the Illinois State Bar Association. He has served in a leadership capacity for numerous other national, regional and local lawyer groups.
