Attorney Chad A. Baker Joins Goostree Law Group

Goostree Law Group recently welcomed Attorney Chad A. Baker to their firm.

Chad focuses his practice on the following areas: family law and divorce, including child custody and parenting time, support calculation, and property allocation.

Before embarking on his legal career, Chad earned his bachelor's degree in business management from Southern Illinois University. After graduation, he gained valuable, real-world business experience by working at the Jimmy John’s franchise headquarters in Champaign, where he trained franchise owners on how to successfully manage their day-to-day operations.

Chad attended Northern Illinois University (NIU) College of Law, where he completed both a Law Degree and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA). During law school, Chad was on the dean’s list and he also received the Clover Family Award for achieving the most pro bono hours in his law school class. In addition, Chad learned legal procedures by volunteering at Kane County Public Defender’s Office and at Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office. He now works part time as an adjunct professor in the Management Department at NIU where he lectures on the legal environment in business.

Upon graduating from law school, Chad worked as an assistant city attorney at the City of Rockford’s Legal Department. In that role, Chad advised the Code and Regulations Committee of the city council, the Zoning Board of Appeals, the Community Relations Committee, and the Liquor Advisory Board. Chad prosecuted building, zoning, sanitation and general ordinance violations. He also handled city foreclosures, demolition, small claims, and petitions for administrative review.
