Looking Past COVID-19

Nearly half of ISBA’s membership suspended operations during the COVID-19 pandemic and nearly as many experienced a decrease in client matters. When asked whether the pandemic has increased their levels of stress, roughly six out of every ten members said yes. When asked whether members perceive more stress in their colleagues and employees as a result of COVID-19, more than 80 percent said they did.

These are among the results of an online survey commissioned by the ISBA to assess how the pandemic is affecting members professionally and personally. Administered by Readex Research, the survey was sent to 20,519 members last October and was completed by 2,925 respondents. Numerous findings from the survey are examined in the January 2021 Illinois Bar Journal cover story, “Looking Past COVID-19.”
