Dussias Wittenberg Koenigsberger (DWK) announces that it has elected a new partner, Kathleen Opal. 

Opal focuses her practice on litigating complex financial matters, including business valuation and the tracing of assets, related to divorce. She also serves clients in a wide range of other family law issues, including custody/allocation of parental responsibilities, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, contribution to college education, enforcement matters, and the disposition of marital and non-marital assets.  

In all her work, Opal prioritizes outstanding client service and works hard to find constructive resolutions for even the most contentious cases, all while managing the physical, emotional and financial needs of her clients and their affected children. 

Opal has been honored as a Rising Star by Illinois Super Lawyers and was included in the Top 100 Emerging Women Lawyers by Emerging Lawyers. Recognized as a distinguished alumna of Chicago-Kent Law School through membership in its Bar & Gavel Society, she volunteers with the Chicago-Kent Society of Women in Law Mentors Program. 

Opal first joined the firm in 2016. She is one of four women to join the firm’s nine member partnership.
