Lawrence “Larry” Glick 1931 - 2021

Lawrence “Larry” E. Glick, age 90, beloved husband of Nancy.

Loving father of Andy (Tracey) and Jon (Stacey).  Cherished Papa of Zachary, Chase, Steven, Charlie and Jaylin. Dear brother of Phyllis Bernstein.  As a proud member of the Jewish Community and a lifelong lover of Israel, Larry served in leadership roles at several Jewish Organizations.  Most notably, he proudly served as the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago/ Jewish United Fund’s General Campaign Chairman in 2002 and served as its Vice Chairman from 2009-2011.  He served as Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Hebrew University for many years.   He was a Founder and Trustee of the Harry S. Truman Institute for the Advancement of Peace at the Hebrew University. Larry was a proud recipient of the Federation’s Julius Rosenwald Memorial Award in 2013 and the United Jewish Appeal’s Achievement Award in 1998 at the General Assembly in Jerusalem. 

In 1999, he received the National Scopus award and an Honorary Doctorate from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago, American Friends of Hebrew University, or Northwestern Memorial Foundation.
