David J. Juncer 1946 - 2022

David John Juncer was called home to be with the Lord on June 3, 2022.

David was born on September 1, 1946, in Medford, Wisconsin. The family relocated to Waukegan, Illinois, where he grew up attending St. Anastasia Grade School and graduating from Waukegan Township High School in 1964. David joined the Army after high school and served in Vietnam from 1964 to 1967. He attended the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He continued his education at the University of Illinois graduating in 1979 with his Juris Doctorate Degree.

Returning to the service David enjoyed his time overseas serving tours in both Germany and Korea. David ended his career as a Major with the position of Assistant Staff Judge Advocate for the 125th Army Reserve Command Headquarters. His last homes were in Iron River, Michigan, and Marshfeild, Wisconsin. He is remembered as a loving son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. He considered his family and friends his greatest blessings.

David is survived by his long-time special friend, Ginger Joseph. He leaves behind four siblings: twin brother Dennis (Ann), sister Nadine (John), brother Walt (Catherine), sister Christine (Rick), and sister-in-law Donna, ten nieces and nephews, and sixteen great nieces and nephews as well as a large extended family of two aunts and many loving cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Adolph and Mildred Juncer and brother, Joseph.

Remembering David would have to include his love of fishing and the beauty of nature, his addiction to the news of the day, his love of long involved discussions about anything, and his appreciation of good brandy. David loved the Lord, his Country, and his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the American Legion.
