Earl Trevis Medansky 1935 - 2022

Earl Trevis Medansky, died peacefully at age 87 on Sunday, September 25, 2022, in Scottsdale, AZ.

He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 67 years, Cookie Medansky, nee Poncher; loving father of Lewis (Linda) Medansky, Robert (Crystlle) Medansky, and the late Nadine (Lyle) Levin; adored grandfather of Emily (Mark), Stefano (Ruth), Brooke (Dylan), Ben, Lucas, Nik, Sydney, Ethan, Addison (Jordan), Calista, and Gabriel, proud great-grandchildren Eva, Grange, and Nina; dear brother of late Lloyd (Eileen) Medansky; treasured uncle, cousin and friend, who were all part of his family.

Earl was born and raised in Chicago, IL, where he met and fell in love with Cookie at age 16. They married while he completed his law degree at DePaul University and went on to practice law in Illinois until he retired to Scottsdale, AZ. To Earl, family, his community and hard work were everything, and to his family, Earl was the patriarch and persistent example of a good life, well-lived. He was a Past Master Mason of his Masonic Lodge, member of Scottish Rite, Shriners, GEL, and one of Woits Warriors. Known as "Mr. Pushups" for his ability to do hundreds of them, the moniker was proudly on his license plates for many years. Never one to linger too long after a meal or a visit, his famous catch phrase "that's it" feels appropriate at this time of his passing. He will be missed, and his legacy will undoubtedly live on through all of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Contributions in memory of Earl may be sent to BrainUp, a non-profit organization that supports brain cancer research in honor of his late daughter, Nadine.
