Clausen Miller’s Strategic Texas Expansion Triples Firm’s Size in State

HOUSTON (August 18, 2025) – Clausen Miller today announced a significant expansion of its Texas presence with the addition of five attorneys and eight professional staff. This move follows Clausen Miller’s third anniversary of operating in Texas and reflects the firm’s long-term strategy to deepen its bench strength and enhance legal services throughout the Southwest.

Joining Clausen Miller are Shareholder Scot Doyen, Partners Terence McCarthy and Angela Hahn, and Associates Tamara Crawford and Paul-Michael Dusek. Together, they bring extensive trial experience, complex insurance law knowledge and commercial litigation capabilities to the firm’s offices across Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio. They join from Houston-based boutique litigation firm Doyen Sebesta & Poelma.

Attorney Profiles

Scot Doyen – Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, with 30 years’ experience and over 150 trials in state and federal courts across Texas and beyond. He has successfully briefed and argued cases before the U.S. and Texas Supreme Courts.

Angela Hahn – Focuses on insurance defense, transportation cases, and uninsured/underinsured motorist law and bad faith. She has more than 15 years of trial experience and published work in property damage litigation.

Terence McCarthy – Concentrates on first-party insurance litigation, leveraging experience in commercial disputes and healthcare liability to advise on high-exposure matters.

Tamara Crawford – Handles first- and third-party insurance litigation and complex commercial disputes, with trial, mediation and contested hearing experience.

Paul-Michael Dusek – Focuses on first- and third-party insurance litigation, with prior experience in maritime and premises liability. His analytical approach is informed by a background in history and legal research.
