Putting the “Pro” in Pro Bono: How To Help Your Community Through the Pro-Bono Pilot Project

To address the unmet legal needs in our communities, the Illinois Supreme Court has adopted the Pro Bono Pilot Project, which is a two-year pilot program that allows Illinois attorneys to earn up to 1 hour of MCLE credit for every 2 hours of pro bono participation they complete with Illinois Free Legal Answers. Join us for an in-depth look at what you need to know about this project, including: the Midwest findings from the 2022 Legal Services Corporation (LSC) Justice Gap study; a review of the Illinois Supreme Court Rule 795(d), which establishes earning MCLE credit for Pro Bono Pilot Project; a summary of the annual pro bono reporting requirements for attorneys; what the Public Interest Law Initiative is working on to help our profession and community; and a demonstration on how to navigate the Illinois Free Legal Answers website.
