Hon. April Troemper Receives Presidential Commendation from Immediate Past President Sonni Choi Williams

On December 12, the Hon. April G. Troemper received the Presidential Commendation from ISBA Immediate Past President Sonni Choi Williams in recognition of her outstanding service on the Standing Committee of Judicial Advisory Polls. Judge Troemper was honored for her leadership of the Committee, including guiding the drafting of revised poll questions that were unanimously approved by the ISBA Board of Governors. She currently serves as the Committee’s Ex-Officio.

The award was presented during the ISBA-IJA Joint Midyear Meeting at the JW Marriott Chicago.

Judge Troemper served as President of the Illinois Judges Foundation (2024–25) and Chair of the ISBA Bench & Bar Section Council (2023–24). Her prior service includes terms on the ISBA Board of Governors and Assembly, as well as the Illinois Bar Foundation Board of Directors.

Judge Troemper is a Seventh Judicial Circuit Court Judge in Macoupin County, based in Carlinville.
