Rule of Law Symposium 2026 – Defending Democracy: Protecting the Rule of Law
The Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) hosted the Rule of Law Symposium 2026 – Defending Democracy: Protecting the Rule of Law on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the ISBA Chicago Regional Office. The full-day symposium focused on strengthening public understanding of the rule of law and the vital role the legal profession plays in defending democracy. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson delivered opening remarks.
The program was followed by a complimentary networking reception.
Presented by the ISBA Human & Civil Rights Section and co-presented by the ISBA Bench & Bar Section, ISBA Diversity Leadership Council, and ISBA’s Standing Committee on Racial & Ethnic Minorities.
