ISBA to Launch Two New Member Directories on August 6
On August 6, 2026, the ISBA will be launching two new member directories as completely free member benefits.
ISBA Member-to-Member Directory: Whether you are interested in making or receiving referrals from other members or just want to look up a member you recently met at a meeting, the Member-to-Member Directory is your go-to source for finding ISBA members. Only ISBA members can access the directory, and all ISBA members are eligible to have a profile in it.
Illinois Lawyer Finder: Get found by potential clients looking to hire a lawyer in our revamped public-facing directory. Available to lawyer members (except judges and inactive, retired, and military members), this public directory has additional client-oriented search options and a contact form for privacy.
When these directories launch on August 6, profiles for most lawyer members will be included by default. We value your privacy, so your address, phone, and email are not displayed unless you opt to make them visible. For members in the public-facing Illinois Lawyer Finder directory, there is a contact form that sends an email to you that you can disable if desired.
Prior to the launch on August 6, you are asked to log into your settings page on the ISBA website and do the following:
- Choose if your profile is visible to the public (if eligible), only visible to other ISBA members, or visible to no one.
- If you choose to make your profile visible in either directory, further choose if you want to make your contact information visible to the public, only to other ISBA members, or to no one. If you choose to make any of your contact information visible, make sure the information is updated and correct.
- Fill in the various profile fields—including your availability to accept new clients or referrals from other members—to create a more informative profile that will place you higher in search results.
If you haven’t yet uploaded a picture to appear on your profile, you can do that from your personal snapshot page on the ISBA website.
